General Note

This is a letter from Janet Murrow, who is living in London, to her parents in the United States. She mentions her volunteer work with the charitable organization, Bundles for Britain, helping them to find a new office as well as unpacking a shipment of donated goods. She speaks of spending time with friends and reading, mentioning that reading gives her some relief from the news of horror coming from Germany. She wonders what articles and images her parents have been seeing in American newspapers, about the depressing news from Germany. She mentions that her husband, Edward Murrow, is said to be in Paris that night. She is looking forward to his radio broadcast and hopes that he will soon return to London.
