Physical Description
The paper is yellowing, embrittled, and flaking away; the top left corner of most pages is torn where a staple once was. The manuscript includes grammatical and typographical edits in ink. The speech begins on what is labeled on the document as page 4 and ends on page 15, apparently in mid-sentence.
General Note
An incomplete manuscript of a speech given by Mary Emma Woolley, president of Mount Holyoke College from 1900-1937, to the Connecticut Association of Classical and High School Teachers on February 13, 1904. Notations in the folder in which this speech is stored suggest that this it had been delivered several times prior to this engagement, the earliest at Miss Boices School in Philadelphia, October 6, 1903.
