Scope and Contents

The Faith M. Clooney Papers consist of a photograph album, her obituary, and a photograph of her. The material chiefly relates to her years as a Mount Holyoke College student, 1933-1937. The album contains photographs of students, events at the College, and the interior and exterior of campus buildings. Of note are photographs of events during Mount Holyoke's 100th anniversary celebration in 1937 and the interior of dormitory rooms. There are also photographs of students on Mountain Day and at Senior Town House. The formal photograph of Clooney was taken during her senior year at Mount Holyoke. The collection also includes an obituary for her, 1998.

Biographical Note

Faith Miltmore was born in Nyack, New York on March 4, 1916 to Dean Miltmore, a physician, and Ruth Demarest Miltmore. She attended Nyack Public High School before entering Mount Holyoke College in 1933. She majored in psychology and graduated in 1937. On November 25, 1937 she married David B. Clooney, a salesman. The couple had two children and were later divorced. Following her graduation she also worked at several businesses as a secretary until she retired in 1984. She died on July 6, 1998 at age eighty-two in Washington, D.C.
