Historical Note
The Two-Unit Plan began admitting students to Mount Holyoke College in the fall of 1935. The program was designed to give exceptional students the opportunity to pursue a desired field of study at the commencement of college. Although students enrolled in the Two-Unit Plan lived together in an exclusive dormitory, they interacted with traditional students, serving on extracurricular committees.
