Abstract

The Mount Holyoke College History and Description Collection contains a variety of sources which document the history of the school, particularly its founding years and events during anniversary celebrations in 1862, 1887, 1912, 1937, 1962, and 1987. Materials date from circa 1833 to the present and include printed circulars describing Mount Holyoke’s original “principles and design,” lists of early financial donations, correspondence, minutes, reports, programs, publications, historical sketches, articles, press releases, audiocassettes, and photographs.
