Mount Holyoke College glass plate negatives and lantern slides collection

 Record Group — Multiple Containers
Identifier: RG 40

Abstract

The Mount Holyoke College Glass Plate Negatives and Lantern Slides Collection was assembled by Asa S. Kinney (1873-1961), a botany professor at Mount Holyoke College from 1899-1940 who designed and documented much of the campus and created most of these images. The negatives and slides date from circa 1900-1931 and include copies of photographs taken at an earlier time. Most of them show campus buildings and scenes, classrooms, faculty members, alumnae, and especially students participating in athletics and traditions such as Mountain Day and Junior Show.
