LGBTQ Alum Oral History Project
Scope and Contents
The LGBTQ Alum Oral History Project is comprised of 47 interviews with alum and 3 interviews with faculty members. The interviews were conducted on campus by Archives and Special Collections student workers between 2015-2018. Individual interviews run between 15-60 minutes. Each interview has a digital recording and a transcript. Interviews with no restrictions are available in our digital collection and in-house. For interviews with restrictions, please contact the Archives and Special Collections at archives@mtholyoke.edu or 413-538-3079 for access.
Additional interviews are being prepared and will be added to this record at a later date.

Conditions Governing Access
Interviews with no access restrictions are available in our digital collection and in-house to researchers. For interviews with access restrictions, researchers must contact the Archives and Special Collections at archives@mtholyoke.edu or 413-538-3079. The following interviews have access restrictions, which are detailed in their individual resource record: Nancy Adamson (class of 1973) and Judith Bennett (class of 1973); Linley Beckbridge (class of 2011); Margo Burns (class of 1979) closed until January 1, 2026; Jack Gieseking (class of 1999) closed until January 1, 2044; Jean Grossholtz, faculty emeritus; Jake Hewes (class of 1997), Mary McClintock (class of 1978); Resi Polixa (class of 2011) closed until January 1, 2044; Mita Radhakrishnan (class of 1990); Kathleen Sharkey (class of 1978); and ivy tillman (FP1983).
Conditions Governing Use
All rights to the interviews, including but not restricted to legal title, copyright, and literary property rights, have been transferred to Mount Holyoke College except for the following interviews where copyright is held by the individual interviewee: Nancy Adamson (class of 1973) and Judith Bennett (class of 1973); Linley Beckbridge (class of 2011); CJ Jenning (class of 1980); Charlotte Lehmann (class of 1983); Mary McClintock (class of 1978); Sherry Quirk (class of 1976); and Mita Radhakrishnan (class of 1990). Permission to publish, quote, or record from these interviews must be obtained from the copyright holder.
Historical Note
The LGBTQ Alum Oral History Project started in 2015 to document the campus experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) alums from Mount Holyoke College. Interviews were conducted by Archives and Special Collections student workers.
